In recognition of the critical need for advanced manufacturing techniques and interdisciplinary research in modern engineering, the DJF Research Group – Innovative Design, Joining and Forming is established as a dedicated platform for scientific inquiry, innovation, and industry-driven collaboration.

This group embodies a collective of academicians, engineers, and researchers from diverse expertise areas, united by a shared vision to advance knowledge and practices in mechanical design, metal joining technologies, and formative manufacturing processes. The group focuses on cutting-edge research that integrates principles of materials science, mechanical engineering, and applied mechanics to solve real-world challenges in the fields of:

Design for manufacturability and sustainability

Welding, brazing, and solid-state joining techniques

Metal forming and deformation processes

Additive and hybrid manufacturing integration

Simulation and modeling of joining/forming processes

Development of novel materials and joining approaches
